Timber is a timeless material, but it’s not right for every setting. F.H. Brundle’s Rinato range of composite fencing and decking provides one versatile alternative.

There will always be a place for the traditional timber fence.

People have been putting up wooden fences for thousands of years, and as long as human beings are around, I suspect there will be someone doing the same.

But in more recent decades, an extensive array of alternatives have appeared, offering builders, architects, building managers and others more choice than ever before.

At F.H. Brundle, for example, we’ve seen growing demand for our Rinato range of Wood Plastic Composite fencing.

The reason WPC is such a fantastic material is that it manages to deliver the timeless aesthetics of timber, without the drawbacks – the need for constant upkeep most prominently of all.

Rinato fencing boards are made of 60% FSC-certified recycled wood and 40% plastics, meaning they’re more sustainable than many alternatives

They’re virtually maintenance free – without the need for the time-consuming regular painting most timber products require.

They’re both rot and splinter free, and highly resistant to weathering and UV damage – and perhaps most importantly, they’re extremely quick and easy to assemble, thanks to their tongue and groove boards.

Available in four colours, birch, chestnut, ebony and twilight grey, the boards come in standard fence heights of 1.8m with 1.8m post centres, and a choice of concrete-in or bolt-down posts. However, both posts and boards can be cut to size.

In addition, it’s not just the boards themselves that offer great weather resistance. The posts do too, allowing you to say goodbye to cracks, chips and frost-damage.

Alongside our WPC offering, Rinato polymer acoustic fencing and gate infill board is another popular timber alternative, and has just been expanded for 2021.

The wrapped range comes in three authentic finishes, golden oak, anthracite and rustic oak, and all feature a decorative wood-effect laminate wrap.

The new embossed range is more cost-effective, but still provides a realistic heat-embossed woodgrain finish with a choice of four colours – black, grey, brown and green.

Both work with our innovative post and channel system, that allow boards to be fitted to virtually any post, and the polymer to naturally expand.

Versatile, durable decking

But fencing isn’t the only area where Rinato excels.

Our Rinato WPC decking boards come in three different options. Natural features a 360-degree wraparound polymer Capstock shield, offering year-round protection against the elements.

Our Victoria M boards design incorporates less composite material, making it lighter and more economical, and especially suited to gardens, patios or balconies.

Finally, our robust classic solid boards are an excellent choice for areas with high footfall, making them a natural fit for both residential and commercial applications.

“Timber is a timeless and stunning material, and it’ll never go out of fashion,” comments F.H. Brundle Head of Marketing Paul Smith.

“But it’s not suitable for every application, and there are times where everyone from site managers in the public sector to private homeowners understandably want something that has similar aesthetics, but is much easier to keep looking and performing its best.

“WPC is one of the most versatile timber alternatives yet invented, and at Brundle, we’re very proud of our extensive Rinato range. With the ability to create robust, attractive fencing and decking, Rinato provides a complete solution for gardens and other outdoor spaces.
